Energy Data Engineer

enshift AG seeks a Mid-level Energy Data Engineer in Baar, CH, to analyze energy data, develop AI forecasts, and build reporting infrastructure within the Product Management team.

This position sits within the Product Management team and focuses on analyzing energy data to support AI-driven price and energy forecasting. The role generates actionable insights from operational and financial performance to aid decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Examine energy data covering production, consumption, and storage to spot optimization potential
• Carry out market analysis using AI techniques and help build forecasts for energy prices
• Review asset data, project status, and operational, environmental, and financial metrics
• Execute trend, variance, and gap analyses to produce practical recommendations
• Ensure data quality through validation and plausibility checks to enhance analytical results
• Build and sustain a central data and reporting system alongside IT colleagues
• Produce KPI reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal and external audiences
• Partner with management, operations, sales, and regional teams to enable data-driven choices

Requirements

• University degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Informatics, Physics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
• Two to four years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the energy industry
• Demonstrated ability to design and construct analytical environments focused on specific goals
• Strong background in creating data pipelines for extraction, validation, transformation, and loading
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms like BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks
• Advanced SQL skills and practical knowledge of Python, R, MATLAB, or similar programming languages
