Engineering Manager - Mobile (f/m/d)

Awin AG seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Pegasus teams responsible for the Awin Mobile App and its backend platform. This leadership role focuses on guiding two teams, fostering technical growth, and driving delivery without hands-on coding.

The Engineering Manager will lead Team Pegasus, which comprises the Pegasus Mobile and Pegasus Platform squads. These teams operate within the Publisher Tribe and are dedicated to building and maintaining the creator-focused mobile application and its supporting backend infrastructure. The position emphasizes strategic guidance and team empowerment rather than direct software development.

Responsibilities

• Mentor engineers to support their professional growth and career progression.
• Oversee hiring processes and ensure smooth integration for new hires.
• Manage performance evaluations, monitor development plans, and deliver consistent feedback.
• Partner with the Product Manager to establish team goals and key results.
• Empower the team to manage the software delivery process and pursue ongoing enhancements.
• Guide team discussions, facilitate decisions, and address interpersonal conflicts.
• Align with Product, UX, and other engineering groups to achieve shared objectives.
• Promote the adoption of AI-driven development tools, code generation, and agentic workflows to speed up delivery.
• Encourage knowledge exchange and cultivate a learning-oriented environment.
• Help shape the long-term strategy for the Engineering Management function.

Requirements

• At least two years in an Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or similar leadership role, demonstrating a servant-leadership approach.
• Proven track record of developing and launching mobile applications in a commercial environment.
• Strong product orientation, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Product and UX teams on discovery and outcome definition.
• Sufficient backend and cloud knowledge to lead the Platform team, including familiarity with APIs and AWS.
• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted development, code generation, and agentic coding workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban, including ceremony facilitation and change management support.

Nice to have

• Direct experience working with Flutter.
• Background in the creator economy, such as creator tooling, affiliate platforms, monetization systems, or influencer products.
• Experience managing multi-agent AI workflows for engineering or product purposes.
