Exotic Derivatives Trader

Vontobel seeks a Senior Exotic Derivatives Trader in Zürich to manage risk, drive P&L, and execute complex trading strategies within a leading investment solution franchise.

This front-office position is designed for high-potential professionals operating in a demanding trading environment. The role sits within a market-leading team in Zurich and forms a key part of a prominent Investment Solution franchise, contributing to its scaling and growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee risk management for exotic trading portfolios
• Generate profit and loss through strategic positioning
• Implement and manage trading strategies for complex exotic instruments
• Facilitate efficient hedging and risk allocation processes
• Maintain consistent and robust pricing and marking standards
• Provide high-quality execution and timely responses to clients and internal teams
• Identify opportunities to broaden product offerings and increase client activity
• Support the expansion and scaling of the franchise
• Collaborate with Sales, Structuring, and Technology teams to improve trading capabilities

Requirements

• Hold a degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline with a strong financial background
• Demonstrate proven experience in exotic derivatives trading within competitive markets
• Possess a quantitative and risk-focused mindset
• Show precision and strong attention to detail
• Combine trading discipline with commercial awareness
• Have programming skills or Python expertise gained in a financial setting
• Exhibit a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with experience in franchise development or platform expansion
• Maintain a broad understanding of all asset classes and market developments
