Field Service Air Defense Systems Technician (m/f/d)

Rheinmetall Air Defence (Switzerland) seeks a Mid-level Field Service Technician for air defense systems in Zürich. The role combines on-site customer support, maintenance, and training with hybrid work options.

This position places the technician in an international setting, requiring significant autonomy and deep technical expertise. The primary purpose is to support customers directly at their deployment sites, ensuring system reliability through hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site technical assistance to clients during deployment.
• Execute maintenance and repair procedures for air defense equipment.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs alongside customer personnel.
• Train end-users on the technical operation of the systems.
• Communicate system observations, customer feedback, and improvement ideas to the Swiss headquarters.
• Record technical activities and update the central support database.
• Utilize augmented and virtual reality tools for remote diagnostics and support.

Requirements

• Completion of technical vocational training as a mechanic or electronics technician, or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong analytical capabilities.
• Capacity to work under pressure, demonstrate flexibility, and commit to long-term international assignments.
• Valid Category B driving license.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Several years of professional experience in a technical discipline.
• Military background in air defense, such as experience as a gunner or radar specialist.
