Financial Risk Data Analyst

Crypto Finance in Zürich seeks a Mid-level Financial Risk Data Analyst to build and automate data infrastructure for financial risk and regulatory reporting. The role focuses on transforming manual workflows into scalable, data-driven processes using SQL and Python.

This position is not a traditional reporting role but centers on developing, automating, and enhancing data infrastructure to support financial risk analytics and regulatory reporting. It aims to shift risk management from manual processes to a scalable, data-driven, and automation-focused framework.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and maintain data pipelines using SQL and Python for financial risk and regulatory reporting needs
• Automate and enhance workflows for capital adequacy, liquidity metrics (LCR/NSFR), leverage ratio, and large exposures
• Maintain high standards for data quality, consistency, traceability, and system robustness across risk platforms
• Support risk analytics, ad-hoc analyses, and projects related to current and new financial products
• Spot opportunities to reduce manual effort and streamline reporting processes
• Help evolve the risk data architecture and tooling environment continuously

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Quantitative Finance, Data Science, or a related discipline
• 2–5 years of experience in risk, data analytics, fintech, banking, or data infrastructure roles
• Strong practical skills in SQL and Python programming
• Background in data pipelines, data modeling, or data infrastructure development
• Clear understanding of financial products (e.g., futures, options, swaps) and/or risk principles
• Excellent analytical and structured problem-solving abilities
• Capacity to work autonomously within a small, high-impact team
• Fluent English communication skills
• Self-motivated, hands-on, and execution-focused mindset

Nice to have

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks is beneficial
• Experience with crypto or digital assets is an advantage
• German language skills are a plus
