Forward Deployed Engineering Manager, Generative AI, Google Cloud

Google seeks a Forward Deployed Engineering Manager in Zürich to lead engineers embedded with clients, driving Generative AI adoption and technical delivery on Google Cloud.

This position focuses on guiding a group of engineers who are placed directly within client organizations. The main goal is to help customers solve difficult business challenges by implementing Google Cloud and AI technologies, ensuring successful project outcomes and widespread use of generative AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support a team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Work closely with clients to identify their business goals and convert them into technical strategies using Generative AI.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of AI initiatives, starting from initial concepts through to live production environments.
• Establish and maintain strong connections with important stakeholders and client partners.
• Keep current with the newest developments in Generative AI and Google Cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineering teams.
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles and distributed systems.
• Understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and associated technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to perform well in rapid-changing and uncertain settings.
