This position serves as a critical safeguard for a leading banking institution, ensuring the security of the financial system and protecting clients from fraudulent activities. The investigator acts as a key point of contact for German-speaking stakeholders while collaborating with internal risk and compliance teams to maintain operational integrity.
Responsibilities
- Examine suspected fraudulent transactions, account behaviors, and activities within the bank's portfolio.
- Analyze financial records and customer data to detect irregular patterns and potential fraud indicators.
- Communicate directly with German-speaking customers, banking partners, and internal teams.
- Work closely with compliance, risk, and anti-money laundering (AML) departments.
- Draft detailed investigation reports and present findings to senior management and relevant authorities.
- Track fraud trends and emerging typologies across the European banking sector.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases through established internal channels.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with GDPR and financial data protection regulations.
Requirements
- Native or fluent proficiency in both spoken and written German.
- Possession of a valid EU passport.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Solid understanding of banking operations, payment systems, and compliance frameworks, including AML and KYC principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
