The company seeks a Host/ess in Geneva to warmly welcome guests, manage reservations, and support restaurant operations. This junior, full-time role requires hospitality experience and fluency in English and French.
The Host/ess serves as the first point of contact for dining guests, ensuring a courteous welcome while optimizing restaurant capacity through reservation management. This position reports directly to the Restaurant Manager and plays a key role in maintaining smooth front-of-house operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the dining room layout and identify premium seating arrangements.
- Verify that Wi-Fi access cards are available for guests throughout service hours.
- Keep the cloakroom area clean, organized, and prepared for guest use.
- Monitor and refresh welcome candles to maintain ambiance.
- Greet visitors with a friendly demeanor, assist with coat check, and escort guests to their tables while providing attentive service.
- Remember guest identities and seating assignments to facilitate smooth departures.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to tidy the dining area after service while ensuring guests are properly seen off and their belongings returned.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant's culinary style, the chef's background, and the brand's global presence.
- Communicate guest feedback and comments to the Restaurant Manager promptly.
- Proactively address and fulfill guest requests before they are explicitly stated.
- Manage guest seating according to the reservation schedule and adjust arrangements as needed for walk-ins or changes.
- Handle coat check duties, retrieving and returning guests' belongings upon departure.
Requirements
- Demonstrated passion for exceptional service and meticulous attention to detail.
- At least two years of prior experience in a comparable hospitality role.
- Strong teamwork abilities, curiosity, and a commitment to professional development.
- Effective communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in both English and French; proficiency in an additional European language is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Swiss work permit or an EU passport.

- Prior experience working in luxury hotels or fine dining establishments is preferred.
