The company seeks a mid-level Hardware Design Engineer in Bern to develop hardware for live and virtual training systems for defense and police clients.
This position belongs to an expert group within a leading European provider of training and simulation solutions. The role centers on engineering hardware for live and virtual training platforms used by armed forces, police agencies, and helicopter operators.
Responsibilities
- Design hardware from initial concepts through schematics and layout to series production.
- Produce and update technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Build, commission, and test prototypes and pilot series, including measurements and reports.
- Define and implement test and validation specifications for PCBs.
- Support certifications, testing, and supplier acceptance processes.
- Maintain production data in SAP (ERP).
- Promote knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in hardware development, and knowledge of software development.
- Knowledge of 16/32-bit processors and interfaces (SPI, I²C, USB, UART).
- Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar PCB design tools.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
