Sandoz Schweiz seeks a Director of Finance for its Generics External Supply Organization in Basel. This strategic role oversees a $1.8B spend portfolio, leads a global finance team, and drives cost competitiveness and growth across a network of 250+ suppliers.
The company is looking for a strategic finance leader to partner with the Generics External Supply Organization (ESO) leadership. This position holds significant influence over Sandoz’s supply network efficiency, cost structure, and long-term expansion. The successful candidate will manage a global finance team while defining the financial approach for one of the organization's most vital operational segments.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to the Generics ESO leadership team as the primary finance business partner.
- Oversee financial performance for an external manufacturing spend portfolio valued at approximately USD 1.8 billion.
- Contribute to achieving company-wide cost savings targets, as the ESO segment represents a major portion of these goals.
- Collaborate with Procurement, External Supply, and Manufacturing leaders to enhance operational excellence and create value.
- Assess commercial opportunities, supplier agreements, and manufacturing contracts to maximize business value and reduce financial risks.
- Lead financial evaluations and provide decision support for network strategy, supplier management, and contract transitions.
- Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) by converting business demand into financial implications and actionable insights.
- Maintain high standards for planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial governance across the organization.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to improve decision-making and alignment between Finance and other departments.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing global finance team.
- Drive continuous improvement by simplifying financial processes and strengthening organizational decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- At least 10 years of experience in Finance, including roles as a Finance Business Partner in global or regional settings.
- Proven expertise in Commercial Finance, Supply Chain Finance, and/or Manufacturing Finance.
- Experience working with External Supply, Procurement, Supplier Management, and/or Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Fluent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
