Head of Consolidation and Accounting

Landis+Gyr AG seeks a Head of Consolidation and Accounting in Cham to lead financial closing, reporting, and team development within the Finance department.

This position sits within the Finance department at the company’s headquarters in Cham, near Zurich, and reports directly to the VP of Group Accounting & Controlling. The role is responsible for overseeing the financial close process, ensuring accurate reporting, and guiding the accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and consolidation procedures for all legal entities.
• Guarantee precise financial reporting and deliver high-quality management information.
• Update and enhance the accounting framework to align with relevant standards and internal governance rules.
• Oversee the creation of statutory and consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations and ensure consistent reporting across all entities.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit experience.
• Advise finance teams and management on complex transactions and reporting challenges.
• Create and maintain accounting policies, process documentation, and internal controls.
• Assist the CFO in preparing financial reports for management and shareholders, including result analysis.
• Promote continuous improvement, automation, and simplification of accounting workflows.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and consolidation team to foster growth and collaboration.

Requirements

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
• At least 10 years of experience in accounting, consolidation, and reporting in an international or multi-entity setting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and consolidation tools, particularly IBM Cognos.
• Deep knowledge of accounting frameworks, specifically US GAAP and IFRS.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, or Swiss Certified Accountant.
• Ability to communicate in German.
