Head of Digital Health Unit (80 - 100%)

Swiss TPH seeks a Head of Digital Health to lead the unit's strategic development, manage a multidisciplinary team, and oversee software and AI projects in global health.

This leadership role sits within the Digital Health unit of the Swiss Centre for International Health. The position holder reports directly to the centre’s head and serves on the departmental leadership team, guiding the unit’s direction and operations.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen and expand the unit’s thematic focus and service offerings.
• Oversee the full lifecycle of product development, including software as a medical device, mobile health applications, interoperability standards, data privacy, personalized health solutions, and AI/ML technologies.
• Provide technical and financial management for a core team of approximately 15 staff in Allschwil and roughly 20 project collaborators located internationally, managing an annual budget of CHF 5–6 million.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support growth.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise long-term health sector initiatives focused on digital health.

Requirements

• Professional background in public health science or health informatics.
• Consulting experience with technical expertise in one or more digital health domains.
• At least 10 years of experience working on health sector and health system strengthening programs.
• Proven track record in business development.
• Demonstrated experience in team leadership and staff management.
• High commitment, flexibility, and willingness to travel internationally.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one additional language, such as French.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, initiative, and ability to thrive in multicultural environments.
