Head of Legal

Visium, an AI-native company combining strategy, deep technical expertise, and product development, seeks a Head of Legal in Zürich for a part-time, flexible role. The candidate will build and oversee the legal and governance framework as the company scales internationally.

Visium integrates strategy, technical expertise, and product development to create AI-native systems that transform business operations. As the company grows, it needs a Head of Legal to establish a robust legal and governance foundation, supporting international expansion while ensuring compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Visium’s legal, governance, and compliance framework across all entities.
• Provide guidance to leadership on corporate governance, shareholder issues, financing, and strategic projects.
• Oversee the negotiation, review, and improvement of commercial contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, including data protection, AI, and industry-specific rules.
• Handle employment, contractor, mobility, and equity-related legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Create scalable legal processes, templates, and risk management systems to support business growth.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors when specialized knowledge is needed.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team, balancing legal risks with business goals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in corporate, commercial, or technology law.
• Background in a top-tier Swiss or international law firm, along with in-house legal experience.
• Experience supporting venture-backed companies, including fundraising and ESOPs.
• Strong knowledge of Swiss corporate governance, financing, and shareholder matters.
• Familiarity with employment law in Switzerland, Germany, and Spain.
• Proven ability to negotiate complex enterprise agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, and partnerships.
• Solid understanding of GDPR, Swiss data protection law, and AI-related regulations.
• Familiarity with the EU AI Act and regulated sectors like Life Sciences or Financial Services.
• Experience with fast-growing international companies.
• Fluency in English and either German or French.
