Givaudan seeks a Head of Procurement IM&S to lead global indirect spend strategy, drive savings, and manage a high-performing team in Kemptthal or Vernier.
This leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for indirect materials and services procurement. The position focuses on creating value, ensuring compliance, and managing a diverse, performance-driven organization while collaborating closely with senior executive leadership.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement a worldwide strategy for indirect materials and services purchasing.
- Ensure the strategy aligns with business needs, providing clear visibility into spending, compliance, and performance metrics.
- Own the achievement of global savings targets for indirect procurement.
- Drive compliance by creating, maintaining, and enforcing corporate policies for indirect materials and services.
- Coach, mentor, and guide regional and category managers within the procurement team.
- Build succession plans and develop standout leaders for critical roles in the organization.
- Foster collaboration across regions within the procurement function.
- Sponsor the Scope 3 roadmap for indirect procurement.
- Represent indirect procurement in the Sustainable Operations Steering Committee and ensure project progress.
- Engage with key business stakeholders to represent the procurement function.
- Promote strong collaboration between global, regional, and local procurement teams and regional stakeholders.
- Follow up with business leaders and functions in cases of non-compliance.
- Leverage AI and advanced technologies to improve procurement processes and decision-making.
- Champion digital tools for data analysis, supplier performance tracking, and market trend forecasting.
- Propose and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends impacting indirect procurement categories.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 15 years of experience in procurement, commercial, or operations organizations.
- Minimum 10 years of proven track record in direct or indirect procurement roles.
- Minimum 7 years of proven leadership experience in an international environment.
- Knowledge of the F&F/FMCG/Chemical industry.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and systems.
- Excellent Communication/Storytelling skills.
- Strong leadership skills, with emphasis on people management.
- Cultural awareness and adaptable to fast changing business requirements.
- Exceptional relationship builder and stakeholder manager.
- Change management skills – track record in managing culture and complex transformations.
