Givaudan seeks a Head of Digital Supply Chain & Manufacturing in Kemptthal, CH, to lead digital transformation across planning, production, and distribution while ensuring IT/OT integration and operational excellence.

This position drives the digital evolution of end-to-end operations, spanning planning, production, and distribution. The role ensures operational excellence by integrating IT and OT systems, optimizing manufacturing performance, and deploying innovative digital solutions. The position reports directly to the Head of Global IT.

Responsibilities

  • Create a worldwide digital strategy for manufacturing and supply chain that aligns with the company's 2030 goals.
  • Design a modern IT/OT architecture that links shop-floor systems with enterprise applications.
  • Evaluate and incorporate technologies like digital twins, predictive analytics, and cognitive automation into the operations roadmap.
  • Serve as the digital authority for manufacturing and operations, advocating for resilient industrial network best practices.
  • Manage governance for operational platforms to guarantee consistency, scalability, and security.
  • Act as the Business Relationship Manager for the Heads of Operations in the Fragrance and Taste divisions.
  • Direct the design and rollout of digital solutions to optimize supply chain planning, production scheduling, and asset performance.
  • Enhance the integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with planning tools.
  • Lead digital initiatives utilizing machine learning, IoT sensors, and advanced analytics for process optimization, predictive maintenance, and quality improvement.
  • Promote collaboration between IT and Operations teams to establish unified control centers.
  • Set architecture standards and performance metrics to evaluate the impact of digital investments.
  • Promote Agile methodologies for managing operational product backlogs.
  • Report digital progress to leadership and global operations, highlighting ROI and securing agreement on priorities.
  • Monitor user adoption of solutions.
  • Focus on dashboard generation.
  • Oversee the department budget.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management partners, operations leaders, and technology peers to align investment roadmaps and deployment priorities.
  • Co-create transformational programs with plant managers, supply chain directors, and finance stakeholders.
  • Build and inspire a global team of manufacturing, data, and digital product experts.
  • Establish capability frameworks around smart manufacturing, process automation, sustainability data, and supply chain analytics.
  • Recruit and develop diverse talent in IT/OT systems, digital product management, and operations transformation.
  • Foster an innovation-driven culture that embraces continuous improvement and latest technologies in industrial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years in manufacturing, or supply chain digital transformation, with recent executive-level leadership.
  • 8+ years leading teams managing manufacturing systems (MES, APS, SAP, IoT platforms).
  • Experience driving IT/OT integration, smart factory projects, and end-to-end operations digitization.
  • Expertise implementing digital tools that deliver measurable productivity, quality, and sustainability gains.
  • Expertise in manufacturing optimization and digital factory ecosystems (MES, APS, IoT, AI/ML).
  • Experience with Industry 4.0 and operational analytics for performance improvement.
  • Experience building digital supply chain control towers and predictive maintenance frameworks.
  • Change-leadership capability to lead transformation across manufacturing sites and supply chain networks.
  • Fluency in sustainability metrics and the use of digital tools to reduce operational footprint.
