The research team at ABB Power Grids is looking for an intern to join their efforts in building an innovative test setup for reliability investigations of SiC MOSFETs. This six-month position focuses on developing measurement campaigns, optimizing converter designs, and creating automated data collection tools to support long-term dynamic testing.
Responsibilities
- Execute measurement campaigns and analyze data using current literature models.
- Design sensor array prototypes and write automated software to extract deeper insights from experimental tests.
- Optimize half-bridge converters to enable long-term dynamic testing of SiC MOSFETs.
- Upgrade test electronics and data acquisition software to support high-precision, extended-duration measurements.
- Document and share developed solutions with the research team, academic partners, and relevant business units.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in electronics engineering, materials engineering, physics, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on experience with electrical measurement setups and the design or construction of electronic systems.
- Proficiency in LabView programming, along with knowledge of languages such as Python, C, or Matlab.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong technical writing abilities and effective communication skills.
- A creative mindset with the ability to work independently.
