responsAbility seeks an Investment Associate in Lima to manage debt investments across Latin America, focusing on credit analysis, financial modeling, and transaction execution.
This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of financial sector debt investments within the Latin American market. The role involves sourcing new opportunities, conducting rigorous risk assessments, structuring deals, and monitoring existing portfolios to ensure alignment with investment goals.
Responsibilities
- Identify and assess debt investment prospects in the financial sector throughout Latin America.
- Execute comprehensive credit, financial, and market risk evaluations, including on-site and remote due diligence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure and finalize transactions.
- Develop and validate structured credit models, performing sensitivity and scenario analyses.
- Oversee the entire investment workflow, from initial screening to portfolio monitoring.
- Create advanced financial models using Excel and VBA for analysis and reporting.
- Utilize econometric methods to evaluate credit risk, default probabilities, and macro-financial impacts.
- Analyze how macroeconomic variables affect counterparties and portfolio performance.
- Review historical and projected financial statements and key performance indicators.
- Prepare detailed internal documents, such as credit memos and monitoring reports.
- Conduct market research and provide sector updates to the investment team.
- Coordinate diligence activities, including meetings and site visits, with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or industrial engineering.
- At least three years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in an international setting.
- Proven background in credit analysis and debt investment, particularly with financial institutions or similar entities.
- Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills with commercial acumen.
- Ability to interpret corporate financial statements and apply credit analysis concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel/VBA and understanding of financial risk modeling.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
- Adaptability and motivation to work in a multicultural environment.
- Interest in impact investing and sustainable finance.
Nice to have
- Academic specialization in Econometrics or Quantitative Economics.
- Completion of CFA Level I.
- Familiarity with statistical or programming languages such as Stata, R, or Python.
