responsAbility board seeks a Senior Investment Officer for Climate Finance in Lima to lead debt fund investments in the Latin America & Caribbean region, focusing on renewable energy and green lending.
This position supports an investment management mandate dedicated to climate finance debt funds, with a specific emphasis on expanding activities in financial institution lending. The role is central to driving the adoption of renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, and electric mobility solutions within Emerging Markets, particularly across the Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) region. It provides a chance to contribute to forward-looking environmental goals within a dynamic professional setting.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with financial institutions throughout the LAC region.
- Oversee the complete due diligence lifecycle for investments in financial institutions, covering origination, assessment, execution, and post-investment monitoring.
- Develop and guide Green Lending Strategies for partner financial institutions, evaluating market potential for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and climate adaptation lending.
- Persuade financial institutions to commit resources toward building green lending capabilities aligned with identified market opportunities.
- Prepare comprehensive Investment Proposals for review and approval by relevant internal committees.
- Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate transactions from initial due diligence through to disbursement and ongoing oversight.
- Perform regular financial monitoring of outstanding transactions and track relevant developments within the sector.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a closely related field.
- At least six years of professional experience in investment or consulting roles within the financial sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting credit analysis for financial institutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Strong proficiency in using presentation and quantitative analysis tools.
- Flexibility to travel on short notice as required by business needs.
