Bobst seeks an IoT Technology Director to lead a 40+ person engineering team, define cloud and IoT strategies, and drive digital innovation while reporting to the CTO.
This senior leadership role sits at the crossroads of technology, innovation, and business transformation. The director will guide a multidisciplinary group of over 40 engineers and specialists, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer and serving on the IoT Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Guide, mentor, and expand multidisciplinary teams focused on IoT, Data Science, and Operations, managing more than 40 staff members.
- Cultivate an environment built on agility, teamwork, innovation, and ongoing improvement.
- Mentor leaders and technical experts to ensure the organization has the capabilities needed to meet its goals.
- Collaborate with the IoT Product Director to manage the technology roadmap and execution of the BOBST Connect platform.
- Establish strategies for architecture, technology stacks, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure to guarantee scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Champion modern engineering methods such as Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and AI-driven development workflows.
- Work closely with Product Lines, Business Units, and commercial teams to enhance customer value.
- Convert business requirements into innovative digital solutions and services.
- Deliver strategic updates and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Over 10 years of experience in software and digital product environments.
- Minimum of 5 years leading large, distributed software development organizations, including nearshore or offshore teams.
- Fluent English proficiency is required.
Nice to have
- French language proficiency is considered a strong asset.
