Head of IT

Destinus seeks a Director-level Head of IT in Zürich to lead global infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations, ensuring secure and scalable technology support for engineering and production teams.

The company is looking for a strategic leader who can also execute hands-on to build a robust IT foundation. This position combines vision with practical implementation to enable engineering, manufacturing, and business units to operate securely while supporting ambitious growth.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement a global IT strategy that supports business growth and operational goals.
• Manage and develop the IT team across various locations, promoting a culture of accountability and service quality.
• Oversee all corporate IT assets, including networks, servers, cloud services, endpoints, and collaboration tools.
• Guarantee the reliability, availability, and security of systems used by engineering, manufacturing, and corporate departments.
• Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies and controls to safeguard company data and assets.
• Administer enterprise applications and business systems to ensure smooth integration and high user adoption.
• Direct IT service management, including support operations, incident response, and problem resolution.
• Lead infrastructure projects such as site expansions, office setups, and technology upgrades.
• Maintain relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
• Implement governance frameworks for asset management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and compliance.
• Define IT budgets, investments, and technology roadmaps to ensure long-term scalability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Finance, HR, and Operations to deliver practical technology solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles within complex and fast-paced environments.
• Extensive experience managing enterprise infrastructure, networks, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, and IT operations.
• Proven track record of leading multi-site and international IT environments.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and enterprise security solutions.
• Experience managing IT vendors, contracts, budgets, and service level agreements.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Strong project management and change management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is required.

• Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, defense, or high-technology organizations.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications such as ERP, PLM, HRIS, and collaboration platforms.
