Head of IT (f/m/d)

PHENOGY AG seeks a Head of IT to lead global IT operations, infrastructure, and cybersecurity in Root, CH. This hybrid role supports international growth and sustainable energy innovation.

Reporting to the COO, this position is responsible for the company's core IT operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, and cybersecurity. The role ensures the IT foundation is secure, reliable, and scalable, enabling rapid international expansion and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the global IT strategy across all international locations.
• Manage enterprise applications, including ERP systems, collaboration tools, identity management, and endpoint solutions.
• Oversee the integration of future Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Maintain secure, cloud-based infrastructure and workplace technology environments.
• Lead initiatives in cybersecurity, information security, risk management, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage relationships with external IT service providers, technology vendors, and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).
• Build and lead the internal IT team, covering operations, service management, and cybersecurity.
• Establish IT governance frameworks, service management processes, SLAs, asset management protocols, and operational KPIs.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Supply Chain, PMO, Quality, Finance, and Commercial departments.

Requirements

• Several years of leadership experience in IT, infrastructure, enterprise applications, or technology operations, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, energy, or technology sectors.
• Strong background in managing enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, networks, and global technology operations.
• Proven experience implementing and supporting ERP environments and other business-critical systems.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, IT governance, risk management, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage external service providers, technology vendors, and outsourcing partners.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate operational needs into scalable technology solutions.
• Professional fluency in both English and German.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting international manufacturing operations and global supply chains.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, MES environments, or industrial IoT integrations.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, TISAX, or similar security frameworks.
• Experience scaling technology operations in high-growth organizations.
• Exposure to renewable energy, battery systems, or industrial technology environments.
