IT Project Manager & PMO Specialist (80-100%)

FIDES Business Partner AG seeks a Senior IT Project Manager & PMO Specialist in Zürich to lead IT initiatives, manage the project portfolio, and ensure governance and delivery excellence.

The company is looking for a professional who blends hands-on project leadership with PMO oversight. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring IT projects to ensure they align with business goals. The position provides a consolidated view of the project portfolio while maintaining strict governance and transparency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee IT projects from start to finish, ensuring successful delivery.
• Create and update project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Monitor progress, track risks, and manage dependencies and issues.
• Maintain a unified overview of all active projects and initiatives.
• Generate regular portfolio reports and executive dashboards for leadership.
• Organize and facilitate steering committees and stakeholder meetings.
• Enforce project governance standards, methodologies, and documentation practices.
• Coordinate efforts across cross-functional teams, vendors, and external partners.
• Track budget adherence, timeline milestones, and resource usage.
• Identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Assist in prioritizing work and planning capacity across the portfolio.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and standards.

Requirements

• A degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in IT project management or PMO roles.
• A proven history of delivering complex IT projects successfully.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructures, applications, integrations, and operational environments.
• Proficiency with project management tools like Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as PMI, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe.
