AMAC Aerospace seeks an IT Service Operations Engineer in Basel to manage hardware, software, and network support for a VIP aviation environment.
This position supports a prestigious aviation firm by ensuring seamless IT operations and enhancing the user experience. The engineer works within a dynamic, knowledge-rich team to maintain high service standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver first and second-level technical support via email, phone, and on-site visits for hardware, software, and network problems.
- Manage and resolve IT requests using the group ticketing system to ensure efficient tracking.
- Employ diagnostic tools to identify and fix issues, preventing disruption to business activities.
- Maintain server room equipment, ensure data backups are current, and adhere to security protocols.
- Set up and maintain desktops, printers, mobile devices (iOS and Android), and telephone systems.
- Deploy Windows operating systems and applications using distribution utilities.
- Create and update technical documentation to improve knowledge management and suggest process improvements.
- Collaborate with global IT teams on projects involving cybersecurity, service design, and technical integration.
- Participate in an emergency support rotation schedule, typically one week every five weeks.
Requirements
- Fluent proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Prior experience in IT service desk operations, customer support, or system administration.
- Strong ability to support Windows client and server environments, Office suites, ERP systems, and mobile devices.
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork capability, and a proactive, user-focused approach.
Nice to have
- Additional language skills in French, German, or Turkish.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
