Amazon RIVR seeks a Junior Electronics Engineer in Zürich to design and test robotic hardware for last-mile delivery. The role involves PCB design, firmware development, and cross-functional collaboration.
Amazon RIVR is developing advanced wheeled-legged robots for autonomous last-mile delivery. This position supports the creation of safe, reliable hardware by integrating custom components with onboard autonomy and cloud coordination.
Responsibilities
- Develop and troubleshoot custom electronic prototypes, including PCBs, wiring, sensors, actuators, and power systems.
- Work with hardware, software, and embedded engineers to integrate components effectively.
- Conduct thorough testing to ensure robotic hardware meets reliability, durability, and safety standards.
- Produce detailed documentation for specifications, assembly, and testing protocols.
- Maintain guidelines and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Participate in design reviews to enhance design standards and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Robotics.
- At least two years of industry or research experience.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design and firmware development.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools like Altium, Eagle, or KiCad, and simulation software such as SPICE.
- Ability to use electronics instrumentation for debugging, including oscilloscopes and power analyzers.
- Understanding of control systems, common electronics components, and communication protocols used in robotics.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for hardware optimization.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience with design for mass production.
- Background in robotic, automotive, aerospace, medical, or consumer electronics sectors.
- Familiarity with control systems for consumer drones, AMRs, or electric bicycles.
