Lab IT Administrator (temporary 12 months)

Solvias seeks a Lab IT Administrator for a 12-month fixed-term role in Switzerland. The position focuses on maintaining laboratory IT systems, ensuring GMP compliance, and bridging lab operations with central IT support.

This role serves as the primary link between laboratory operations and the central IT department. The administrator ensures the daily stability, support, and proper functioning of specialized laboratory software and infrastructure, acting as the key point of contact for technical needs within the lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily administration, updates, and troubleshooting of laboratory applications and systems.
• Serve as the main liaison between lab staff and central IT to address technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, IT teams, and external vendors to solve complex technical problems.
• Draft, review, and maintain documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and qualification records.
• Support the implementation of planned changes, deviations, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Ensure laboratory software runs efficiently by performing necessary upgrades and maintenance.
• Provide hands-on technical assistance to laboratory personnel using scientific tools.
• Resolve common technical issues and escalate more difficult problems to the broader IT team.
• Keep detailed records of system configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
• Verify that all laboratory systems adhere to internal policies and external regulations like ISO 9001 and GMP.
• Assist during customer audits and inspections by regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal abilities and a customer-service mindset.
• Effective communication skills to understand lab needs and deliver timely IT solutions.
• Working knowledge of GMP regulations, data integrity standards, and quality protocols.
• Familiarity with scientific applications, specifically Chromeleon, including troubleshooting methods.
• Solid background in IT infrastructure management.
• Experience integrating and optimizing systems within laboratory environments.
• Highly organized approach with a focus on precise and accurate documentation.
