Lab Operations & Materials Specialist (f/m/d)

Central-Apotheke Aarau AG seeks a Lab Operations & Materials Specialist in Thörishaus to manage microbiology lab workflows, inventory, and quality documentation within the Quality Control department.

This position sits within the Quality Control department at the company’s Swiss vaccine production facility. The primary purpose of the role is to guarantee the efficient functioning of the microbiology laboratory while upholding rigorous quality standards through effective operational support and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure laboratory hygiene, sterilization protocols, and glassware cleaning are maintained to standard.
• Handle the disposal of laboratory waste and coordinate the logistics for laboratory garment services.
• Maintain precise documentation, archiving, and filing systems for all laboratory records.
• Manage inventory levels, execute Kanban processes, and register materials in the LIMS based on demand.
• Oversee the storage, labeling, and system-based removal of materials that are released, consumed, or expired.
• Support daily lab activities by conducting water sampling, registering data in LIMS, and preparing culture media for microbiological tests.
• Coordinate the maintenance, repair, qualification, and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a laboratory setting or a similar operational role.
• A meticulous, structured, and reliable approach to work with keen attention to detail.
• Strong understanding and adherence to quality and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organizational abilities and a high sense of personal accountability.
• A team-oriented, proactive, and hands-on attitude with a willingness to assist with various lab tasks.
• Proficiency in using IT systems.
• Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Ability to communicate in English.
