Lead Data Engineer (Azure, Fabric)

Visium seeks a Lead Data Engineer in Lausanne, CH, to design and scale data platforms for clients using Azure and Microsoft Fabric. The role requires 5+ years in data engineering, expertise in Fabric, SAP integration, and leadership skills, with a flexible work model and support for professional and personal development.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling modern data platforms for Visium’s clients, ensuring robust, scalable solutions that support analytics and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate clients’ data environments, including data sources, system architectures, and data quality
• Partner with business and IT teams to turn requirements into reliable data solutions
• Create and maintain scalable data platforms, including pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses on cloud infrastructure
• Develop data models, schemas, and governance structures to support analytics and reporting
• Participate in technical sales and pre-sales efforts, including solution design and project estimations
• Manage large-scale distributed data systems, resolve technical issues, and stay updated on data engineering best practices

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in data engineering, with experience in data platforms, data modeling, and production-grade pipelines
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Experience integrating SAP data systems
• Proven ability to lead data engineering teams and guide technical projects
• Proficiency in distributed data processing (e.g., Spark), data lakes/warehouses, ETL/ELT patterns, and Python development
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills in English, with the ability to work independently in complex client environments
