Octapharma seeks a Lead Expert Payroll in Lachen to manage Swiss payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the internal subject matter expert for compensation and benefits.

Based at the global headquarters in Lachen, this position is part of the Human Resources team. The role focuses on delivering precise payroll services for staff in Switzerland and Liechtenstein while ensuring strict adherence to local legal requirements. The successful candidate will act as the primary authority on payroll matters, supporting both employees and management with expert guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately for locations in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for all payroll-related topics, including social security, pension schemes, taxation, and relevant legislation.
  • Handle the complete employee lifecycle administration, covering onboarding, changes in employment status, and offboarding procedures.
  • Communicate with social security agencies, insurance companies, and other external parties to manage registrations and declarations.
  • Oversee personnel records and digital files, maintaining high standards for data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Organize payroll disbursements, year-end closing tasks, audits, and necessary statutory reports.
  • Assist with HR budgeting, internal reporting, and submission of government statistics.
  • Provide advice to staff and managers regarding payroll policies, procedures, and specific inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll workflows, documentation, and compliance frameworks.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, and external vendors to guarantee smooth and efficient service delivery.

Requirements

  • Completion of commercial education or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably within an international setting.
  • Strong understanding of Swiss payroll rules, social security systems, pension funds, and employment law.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS and payroll software, along with advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Fluent command of German and competent English language skills.

  • Additional qualifications in payroll, human resources, or social insurance.
  • Ability to speak additional languages.
