Bühlergroup seeks a Maintenance Engineer in Plymouth, CH, to oversee equipment upkeep and trial execution at its Food Application Center, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
The company is looking for a professional to manage maintenance and utility operations within its Food Application Center. This position focuses on keeping machinery in peak condition, coordinating with internal departments and external partners, and supporting the successful completion of customer trials. The role is central to ensuring that the facility runs efficiently while contributing to the development of sustainable solutions for the food and feed sectors.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute maintenance tasks, including predictive strategies, equipment repairs, rebuilds, and electrical work.
- Manage and update daily maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure trial success.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical issues by interpreting electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to implement process improvements and upgrades.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure all equipment inspections remain current.
- Set up, commission, and align machinery for trials, supporting both internal and external customer projects.
- Assist in milling and extrusion trials to support customer development efforts.
- Promote food safety standards and 5S workplace organization activities.
- Engage in continuous learning and apply new knowledge to daily tasks.
- Deliver maintenance training programs to team members.
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in mechatronics or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of experience in maintenance or field service, preferably within the food industry.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, particularly Allen Bradley systems.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team to reach shared objectives.
- Demonstrated skill in selecting appropriate problem-solving approaches.
- Capacity to set clear goals and perform effectively under pressure, tight deadlines, and heavy workloads.
- Ability to communicate analysis and ideas clearly in writing.
- Fluent command of the English language.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to 15% of working time, including potential non-standard hours.

- Prior experience with SAP systems.
