Manager - Data Generation Team (f/m/d)

Hexagon Robotics seeks a Manager for its Data Generation Team in Zürich to lead end-to-end data strategy, execution, and quality for humanoid robotics R&D.

This position focuses on managing the complete lifecycle of data generation and collection for humanoid robotics research. The role prioritizes strong data management and operational execution over deep technical robotics or machine learning expertise, serving as the central steward for multimodal datasets.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full scope of data generation, collection, and management for humanoid robotics projects.
• Create and execute a data roadmap in collaboration with R&D teams, establishing a scalable delivery framework.
• Identify and expand multimodal datasets necessary to meet engineering goals.
• Oversee dataset lifecycles using advanced tools to guarantee availability, security, governance, and compliance.
• Serve as the primary data steward for all multimodal data assets.
• Set quality standards, acceptance criteria, and hygiene practices with defined KPIs.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Imitation Learning, Control, Simulation, MLOps) and external suppliers to ensure timely data delivery.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on delivery and a strong interest in robotics and data.
• Proven experience managing external suppliers, service providers, and partnerships.
• Background in defining processes and KPIs for large-scale data generation, quality assurance, and delivery.
• Strong program management and stakeholder management capabilities.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with teleoperation and data collection tools.
• Technical understanding of robotics and machine learning data requirements.
• Experience in people management or team supervision.
