Senior Data Migration Manager

Swisslinx seeks a Senior Data Migration Manager in Zürich to lead the transfer of complex financial data into a modern portfolio management platform, ensuring high quality and automation.

The company is looking for a hands-on expert to oversee the reliable migration of data from legacy systems into a new Wealth Management platform. This position plays a key role in moving large customer portfolios while ensuring technical accuracy and process efficiency within a financial setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end technical execution of complex data transfers, covering customer master records, positions, transactions, and investment universes.
• Perform rigorous validation, plausibility checks, and quality assurance to ensure migrated data matches source systems through reconciliation.
• Establish and sustain data integrations with custody banks and external data providers.
• Automate specific stages of the migration workflow to improve efficiency.
• Refine migration processes to enhance scalability for future projects.
• Conduct detailed analysis of intricate data sets to facilitate their transfer to the target environment.
• Provide guidance to project teams regarding challenges encountered during data transfer.

Requirements

• At least six years of professional experience in data migration, including analysis, preparation, and execution for large data volumes.
• Strong grasp of liquid asset classes such as stocks, bonds, and derivatives, along with related financial transactions and corporate actions.
• A completed degree in Business Computer Science, Financial Mathematics, or a comparable field.
• Proficiency in Python and solid SQL skills for working with relational databases.
• Fluency in both German and English at a C1 level.

Nice to have

• Prior work experience within the financial industry.
• Familiarity with document-oriented databases like MongoDB and additional programming languages.
• Knowledge of other local languages.
