Mechanical Designer 80 - 100% (f/m/d)

ABB Power Grids seeks a Junior Mechanical Designer in Molinazzo di Monteggio, CH, to support transformer design and engineering projects onsite.

This position offers an entry-level opportunity to begin a career in mechanical design within the transformer sector. The successful candidate will collaborate with the engineering team to create innovative solutions and develop technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Help create mechanical designs by following engineering standards and verifying project specifications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop solutions that address customer and market requirements.
• Offer technical assistance to manufacturing locations to ensure designs align with specifications.
• Participate in testing, installation, and commissioning tasks under the supervision of experienced staff.
• Identify and analyze design or product issues to support ongoing improvement efforts.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Possess approximately one year of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally within the transformer industry or a similar field.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, including electrical ones.
• Be fluent in both Italian and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD software, particularly Creo, AutoCAD, and Windchill, is considered a plus.
