Packaging Senior Specialist - Global Research and Development Expert for PET (Polyethylene Terephtha

Nestlé seeks a Senior Packaging Specialist in Orbe, CH, to lead innovative PET bottle development, ensuring scalability, sustainability, and technical excellence across global operations.

The company is looking for an expert to drive the creation of competitive and scalable PET bottle solutions that meet business, consumer, and sustainability goals. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams across research, development, supply chain, and manufacturing to bring new packaging concepts from idea to factory floor.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of PET bottle projects, starting with initial concepts and 3D design, moving through validation and piloting, and ending with production implementation.
• Create innovative packaging designs that enhance performance, quality, sustainability, and user experience for global product lines.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to develop scalable PET bottle, preform, and closure solutions.
• Ensure complex packaging projects are delivered on schedule and within budget by coordinating technical priorities and milestones.
• Transfer specialized knowledge to packaging and operations teams to improve overall capability and support informed decision-making.
• Identify emerging technologies and optimization opportunities to shape the future of the company's bottle portfolio.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanics, Processing, Packaging, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in PET bottle and preform development, including structural design, testing, validation, and factory implementation.
• Strong background in packaging development, particularly in bottle forming, barrier technologies, closure compatibility, and circular design.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional projects with internal teams, factories, suppliers, and external partners globally.
• Working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
