This position focuses on creating and refining a new imaging method known as low-energy electron holography. The successful candidate will apply this technique to analyze two-dimensional crystals and non-crystalline materials at the nanoscale, contributing to advanced scientific research within the institute.
Responsibilities
- Preparing samples for analysis
- Capturing low-energy electron holograms
- Using numerical methods to reconstruct sample structures from holographic data
- Simulating holograms for different types of samples
- Sharing findings at academic conferences and authoring research publications
Requirements
- A recently completed master's degree in physics or engineering
- Strong understanding of solid-state physics, coherent optics, and theoretical physics, including quantum mechanics and QED
- Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB and Python
