ABB Power Grids seeks a Senior Photolithography Engineer in Lenzburg, CH, to develop and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes, ensuring production stability and yield goals.
The company is looking for a Senior Photolithography Engineer to join a high-performing team in Lenzburg. In this role, you will focus on developing and refining photolithography processes for semiconductor manufacturing. You will have the chance to influence technical decisions, help shape long-term tool strategies, and drive improvements in process stability, uptime, and overall performance.
Responsibilities
- Meet production program and yield targets while resolving product yield and rework challenges.
- Collaborate with equipment and material suppliers to create new solutions and enhance existing processes, ensuring smooth production line operation.
- Create new techniques, adapt existing designs, and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze process data to spot trends, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues, including implementing and monitoring Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Independently plan and implement new machinery into the production line.
- Partner with process integration, wet etch, diffusion, metals, dry etch, and implant teams to ensure seamless production.
- Provide support for metrology tools, such as measuring Critical Dimension (CD) and Overlay.
- Participate in on-call duties on weekends and public holidays as needed, coordinating with other on-call service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field with 5+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years, or a Ph.D. with industry experience.
- Extensive experience in wafer photolithography operations, particularly in coating and exposure using Steppers in a wafer manufacturing environment (thin-film-head, semiconductor wafer manufacturing).
- Familiarity with automated wafer factory software systems like SPC and MES, plus experience with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of optics and immersion lithography.
- Good English and German language skills.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment.

- Proficiency in data science and programming is preferred.
