Lightium AG seeks a Photonics Design Verification Engineer in Schlieren to lead verification procedures for high-speed electro-optical circuits and support next-generation TFLN solutions.
As a key member of Lightium’s engineering team, this position drives the verification of advanced photonic designs for both internal projects and external partners. The role focuses on establishing robust validation workflows for high-speed circuits while contributing to the development of innovative photonics technologies for the telecommunications and datacom sectors.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and mentor teams on best-in-class verification protocols for electro-optical circuits.
- Perform hands-on verification of internal and customer designs, specifically targeting high-speed signals above 100 GHz.
- Collaborate with top-tier clients to ensure designs pass DRC and LVS checks and meet all system-level specifications.
- Partner with R&D groups throughout the design lifecycle, from initial concepts to optical testing and characterization.
- Create comprehensive documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for new staff.
- Monitor industry trends in photonics and contribute to the company’s intellectual property assets.
- Travel occasionally to visit customers and testing partners.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Communications, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of three years of industrial experience in chip design, photonic circuit layout, verification, or system engineering.
- Practical background with integrated photonics platforms, including TFLN, silicon photonics, SiN, or InP.
- Strong proficiency in design verification, DRC/LVS checks, mask generation, and managing large GDS files.
- Solid expertise in optical chip design and microwave photonics.
- Fluent command of English.
Nice to have
- Experience using major EDA tools such as Luceda, GDSFactory, Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens/Mentor Graphics.
- Additional language skills in German, French, or an Asian language.
