PLC Programmer

GRZ Technologies seeks a Mid-level PLC Programmer in Avenches, CH, to design, implement, and commission machine control systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This position focuses on the end-to-end management of machine control systems, from initial concept and planning through to implementation. The engineer is responsible for ensuring system functionality by conducting in-house testing and performing final commissioning at customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan machine control architectures
• Develop control logic, communication protocols, and user interfaces
• Partner with process, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards
• Commission equipment internally and on-site at client facilities
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation
• Provide ongoing technical support to end-users

Requirements

• Vocational training as an automation technician or equivalent degree in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering
• Proven experience programming PLCs using Codesys, Lasal, or TwinCat
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency

Nice to have

• Familiarity with process plant programming and instrumentation
• Hands-on experience with Git for version control
• Background in object-oriented languages such as Java or C#
• Ability to communicate in German and/or French
