The company seeks a mid-level Software Development Specialist in Campocologno to develop and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems for automated equipment.
This position supports a team focused on saving and sustaining lives through a culture built on courage, trust, and collaboration. The specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining PLC software, SCADA systems, and tailored HMI applications to support automated manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Create and upkeep PLC software, primarily using Rockwell and Siemens platforms, alongside SCADA and bespoke HMI solutions.
- Partner with internal teams, external vendors, and site staff to guarantee the proper design, integration, and commissioning of automated machinery.
- Review controls data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and boost equipment performance.
- Resolve automation-related problems and suggest technical upgrades for current systems.
- Set up and oversee industrial networks, including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, and EtherCAT.
- Provide support for robot-based systems and their integration with peripheral devices.
- Conduct machine start-ups, testing, operator training, and provide on-site assistance.
- Travel up to 40% of the time for domestic and international assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronic, Biomedical, or Automation Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in machine controls and PLC programming.
- Solid understanding of automation principles, servo systems, electrical and pneumatic design, industrial vision systems, and robot software (Staubli, ABB, Fanuc).
- Knowledge of ISO/ANSI/GAMP5 standards and CFR21 Part 11.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Fluency in Italian is required for the Campo site.
