The company seeks a Mid-level PLC Developer for its Rotkreuz site, focusing on real-time automation for Roche Diagnostics. The role combines PLC programming with electrical design and cross-functional collaboration.

This position serves as a primary supplier for Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz. The engineer is responsible for building reliable real-time automation systems while working closely with hardware specialists and senior software developers to ensure cohesive product integration.

Responsibilities

  • Create PLC code using structured text within the B&R controller environment.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation for all control software components.
  • Handle electrical engineering tasks including cable layout, wiring schematics, PCB design, and EMC testing.
  • Assist in integration testing and troubleshoot technical issues within cross-functional teams.
  • Develop modular and well-structured PLC software that interfaces with existing automation frameworks.
  • Facilitate the commissioning and startup of new instrument modules.
  • Guarantee smooth interaction between software logic, electrical hardware, and mechanical parts.

Requirements

  • A university degree (Fachhochschule level or higher) in a relevant technical discipline.
  • At least three years of practical experience in PLC development.
  • Minimum of three years working in electrical design.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency with PLC development environments and PCB schematic design software.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Fluency in German and good command of English.

Nice to have

  • Extensive background in electrical design projects.
  • Familiarity with B&R Automation Studio, EPLAN, or Siemens Xpedition.
  • Prior work with motor control systems and instrument workflow processes.
