EPFL seeks a Postdoc in experimental biophysics to investigate how fluid flows and mechanical properties emerge from molecular assemblies in living cells through microscopy and quantitative measurements.
The research group operates as a curiosity-driven experimental biophysics lab focused on understanding how fluid flows and mechanical properties emerge from the collective activity of molecular assemblies in living cells. The team investigates the biophysical mechanisms by which cells sense, adapt, and respond to their environment, using free-living unicellular organisms as model systems. The group employs microscopy, quantitative measurements, and molecular perturbations to identify the physical principles and cell biological mechanisms underlying the continuum properties of living matter. The group is interdisciplinary and welcomes researchers from diverse backgrounds, including physics, biophysics, cell biology, biochemistry, and engineering.
