Amazon Switzerland seeks a Principal Delivery Consultant to lead technical architecture for large-scale Healthcare and Life Sciences transformation programs using AI/ML and data science.
This pivotal leadership role within the AWS Professional Services organization shapes how global Healthcare and Life Sciences companies derive business value from cloud computing and artificial intelligence. The consultant serves as the technical authority for complex transformation initiatives, defining the vision across multiple workstreams while guiding executive stakeholders and engineering teams toward successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain end-to-end technical architectures for major Healthcare and Life Sciences programs, establishing reusable patterns and reference standards.
- Establish operational foundations for agentic AI, including multi-model governance, observability, automated guardrails, and secure multi-agent orchestration.
- Advise executives on strategic technology decisions regarding total cost of ownership, time-to-value, and build versus buy options.
- Resolve architectural conflicts and align diverse technical teams, adapting strategies as program requirements evolve.
- Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring bias detection, model explainability, and adherence to AWS AI service guardrails.
- Drive AI-Driven Development Life Cycle (AI-DLC) methodologies to redesign delivery models for accelerated scale.
- Steer multi-agent systems at scale using supervisor-worker hierarchies, workflow orchestration, and saga patterns.
- Embed AI-native workflows into program execution to maximize builder productivity and improve time-to-value.
- Continuously deepen expertise in AI/ML, enterprise architecture, data engineering, and the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of experience delivering enterprise technology architecture.
- At least five years leading technical teams to define and govern architecture on complex transformation programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep technical knowledge in one or more areas: AI/ML, enterprise architecture modernization, or data architecture and engineering.
- Strong executive communication skills to present architecture trade-offs, risk assessments, and recommendations to VP-level audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to adopt and champion emerging delivery methodologies that accelerate team productivity.
Nice to have
- AWS Professional-level certifications such as GenAI Developer Professional, Solutions Architect Professional, Machine Learning Specialty, or Data Analytics Specialty.
- Industry experience in healthcare and life sciences, particularly with large biopharma, medtech, or payer customers.
- Experience designing AI solutions compliant with HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and standards like OMOP, CDISC, FHIR, and HL7 FHIR R4.
- Proven expertise in operationalizing agentic AI systems using multi-agent orchestration, tool-use agents, and workflow orchestration, ideally leveraging Amazon Bedrock or AgentCore.
- Experience redesigning delivery workflows to become AI-native, including steering multi-agent systems to drive productivity.
- Background in designing large-scale data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses, knowledge graphs, vector databases, RAG architectures, and ontology-driven models.
- Ability to influence and align customer enterprise architects and partner teams on architecture patterns in multi-vendor environments.
