H&M Hennes & Mauritz AG seeks a Product Merchandising Lead in Zürich to oversee stock, sales, and profitability for the CH market through strategic planning and commercial collaboration.
The company is looking for a professional to manage product merchandising execution for the Swiss sales market. The primary goal is to ensure strong financial outcomes by aligning inventory levels with demand and supporting commercial teams in their daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for sales market commercial teams regarding inventory and stock matters to support effective execution.
- Promote consistency and transparency in merchandising practices by sharing best practices across different sales markets.
- Assist sales markets in defining and modifying price maps to account for local competition and current stock levels.
- Forecast supply needs relative to demand, providing insights and recommending corrective actions when necessary.
- Determine which articles are suitable for final sale, clearance, or special campaigns across various channels.
- Collaborate with Inventory Optimization Leads to set markdowns and other inventory management measures based on their analyses.
- Monitor and forecast research and development (R&D) requirements for the sales markets.
- Act as the central contact for assigned sales markets and warehouses concerning allocation, replenishment, and stock management.
- Track stock levels at the sales market level and evaluate stock-balancing scenarios within the planning market.
- Manage the initial allocation of goods from warehouses to stores according to sales market plans.
- Adjust replenishment speeds and set blocks or stops for seasonal stock or predictable demand patterns.
- Define backstock lists for items that need to be removed from shop floors or pick locations.
- Provide regular stock update reports to commercial teams and store managers to ensure transparency on incoming deliveries and stock status.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, economics, or a related discipline.
- Between 2 and 4 years of experience in product merchandising, retail planning, or commercial operations within retail, fashion, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret sales, demand, and stock data effectively.
- Experience using reporting and planning tools, particularly BI systems.
