Professeur-e ordinaire en Intelligence Artificielle et Finance

The University of Geneva seeks a full-time ordinary professor in AI and Finance to lead teaching and research initiatives at the GSEM, strengthening the institution's presence in the Swiss Finance Institute.

This senior academic role is designed to bolster the research and educational capabilities of the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM), with a specific focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence and financial markets. The appointee will play a key part in enhancing the University of Geneva’s standing within the Swiss Finance Institute while delivering instruction across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and courses covering topics such as asset pricing, quantitative finance, machine learning applications in finance, fintech, and sustainable finance.
• Guide and supervise master’s students and doctoral candidates through their thesis and dissertation work.
• Increase the research output and global scientific reputation of the Geneva Finance Research Institute (GFRI).
• Expand and improve the quality of teaching offerings for bachelor, master, and PhD students.
• Build and maintain interdisciplinary collaborations across the University.
• Manage organizational and administrative duties associated with the position within the GFRI.
• Engage actively with the GSEM community and collaborate with external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Hold a PhD in a relevant field.
• Showcase a strong publication record in top-tier economics journals.
• Demonstrate deep expertise in both artificial intelligence and finance.
• Have prior teaching experience in AI and finance at multiple academic levels.
• Possess strong pedagogical abilities.
• Be fluent in English to conduct teaching and research activities.

Nice to have

• Capacity to link high-level academic research with broader economic policy discussions.
• Ability to teach courses in French.
