Nestlé seeks an R&D Intern in Lausanne to study how enzymatic treatments affect polysaccharide structure and functionality in food systems through laboratory experiments and scientific collaboration.
This internship focuses on investigating the impact of selective enzymatic treatments on polysaccharide structure and functionality within model food systems. The intern will work closely with scientists and experts across the Nestlé Institute of Food Sciences and the broader Nestlé Research community to drive food science innovation.
Responsibilities
- Investigating how selective enzymatic treatments shape polysaccharide structure and functionality in model food systems.
- Designing and carrying out laboratory experiments to identify optimal reaction conditions and prototype approaches.
- Characterizing polysaccharides using techniques such as size exclusion chromatography, monosaccharide composition analysis, rheology, dynamic light scattering and microscopy.
- Consolidating and interpreting experimental results to build meaningful insights for food science innovation.
- Presenting your findings clearly to the project team and contributing to collaborative scientific discussions.
Requirements
- Current student or fresh graduate in physico-chemistry, food science or related scientific fields
- Having a first exposure to laboratory environment, planning experiments and documenting results with care.
- Communicating confidently in English, both orally and in writing.
