CTC Resourcing Solutions AG seeks a Research Associate in Basel for in vivo nonmalignant hematology research, focusing on coagulation studies and pharmaceutical asset characterization.

The company is looking for a professional to characterize the efficacy and safety of new pharmaceutical assets. The role centers on designing and executing experiments in coagulation research, utilizing both in vivo and in vitro methodologies to support scientific objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, conduct, and interpret various in vivo and in vitro experiments related to coagulation.
  • Apply practical skills in rodent handling, including performing intravenous injections and collecting blood samples.
  • Evaluate the safety and efficacy of new pharmaceutical candidates using molecular and biochemical techniques such as ELISA, thrombin generation assays, and chromogenic assays on murine and human samples.
  • Prepare, manage, and test patient-derived materials like blood and plasma in in vitro and ex vivo contexts.
  • Analyze experimental data and share findings with the team.
  • Keep detailed records, assist with lab organization, and manage inventory and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid Swiss or EU citizenship, or possess a relevant working/residency permit.
  • Possess a BSc or MSc in Life Sciences (such as molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, or coagulation) with 2-3 years of hands-on animal study experience, or have completed an apprenticeship as a Research Associate with 4-5 years of academic or industry experience. PhD holders are not considered.
  • Hold an active LTK1 or FELASA certification, or an equivalent, with continuing education requirements met.
  • Demonstrate strong practical in vivo skills, including compound administration, monitoring, and organ sampling.
  • Show strong practical experience in in vitro assays, including DNA/RNA isolation, ELISA, qPCR, biochemical assays, and protein-based assays.
  • Exhibit independence and expertise in experimental design and data analysis.
  • Be capable of independently managing in vivo and in vitro studies from initiation to completion.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience with thrombin generation and chromogenic substrate assays.
  • Experience performing surgical procedures in rodents, such as in vivo thrombosis assays and in vivo bleeding models.
  • Knowledge of coagulation, hemostasis, bleeding, or thrombosis biology.
  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
