ETH Zurich seeks a Senior Section Head for Training and Communication to lead safety and health education initiatives within the SGU department in Zurich.
The Department of Safety, Health and Environment (SGU) at ETH Zurich provides advisory, support, and training services to all university units regarding workplace safety and health. This position plays a key role in shaping high-impact safety topics across one of the world's leading academic institutions, ensuring that safety and health awareness are integrated into the university's culture.
Responsibilities
- Oversee university-wide training and qualification management by continuously improving training concepts and course offerings.
- Develop, ensure quality, and manage compliance for learning programs and educational materials.
- Drive safety, health, and environmental awareness across the university through targeted communication strategies and initiatives.
- Manage a small team consisting of two staff members and one to two vocational training students.
- Advise SGU leadership on communication strategies and address related inquiries.
- Collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders to deliver appropriate information and training on Safety & Security matters.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Communication Sciences or Linguistics (such as German Studies or Philology).
- Demonstrated professional background in training and learning development.
- Several years of experience in internal or corporate communication, including the design and management of internal training programs.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, steer, and enhance communication and sensitization measures for qualification programs.
