Senior AI Engineer

Elca Informatik AG seeks a Senior AI Engineer in Pully, CH, to lead end-to-end AI/ML projects, build scalable production systems, and mentor junior team members. The role requires strong Python skills, MLOps experience, and fluency in French and English.

This position serves as a central technical driver for the company's data science and artificial intelligence efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecting and implementing complete solutions that convert intricate business requirements into reliable, large-scale AI systems ready for production use.

Responsibilities

• Guide AI and data science initiatives from initial business analysis through to the delivery of sturdy, functional solutions.
• Examine, model, and interpret intricate data sets while presenting findings clearly to both technical peers and business stakeholders.
• Create and refine machine learning models specifically adapted to address practical business challenges.
• Develop dependable data pipelines that convert raw information into high-quality inputs for model training and inference.
• Architect, sustain, and enhance MLOps workflows to automate model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams spanning IT, engineering, and business units.
• Provide mentorship to junior data scientists and help establish technical best practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of professional experience in AI, data science, or machine learning engineering.
• A degree obtained from a technical university.
• Proficient programming abilities in Python, along with practical experience using contemporary ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Comprehensive grasp of data analysis, MLOps methodologies, and the construction of production-grade ML systems.
• Solid foundation in software engineering principles, including familiarity with Linux/Windows environments, Git, APIs, and data storage mechanisms.
• Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and the capacity to operate independently.
• Excellent communication abilities with full fluency in both French and English.
• Readiness to travel within the Romandie region as needed.
