Lombard Odier IM seeks a Senior AML Compliance Officer in Geneva to conduct due diligence and risk assessments for private banking clients, ensuring adherence to Swiss regulations.
This position supports a globally recognized wealth manager known for sustainable investing and strong capitalization. The role focuses on operational due diligence within the Swiss regulatory framework, including FINMA ordinances and local AML laws, while managing complex client reviews and providing expert guidance to internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Execute onboarding, change of circumstances, and event-triggered reviews for Private Banking clients.
- Screen background information for key personnel using SmartKYC and open media sources.
- Draft compliance risk assessments evaluating account purpose, client background, source of wealth/funds, negative news, and risk scores.
- Submit high-risk or PEP cases to the Due Diligence Committee alongside comprehensive risk assessments.
- Track follow-up actions and validate data within the CRM system.
- Advise on prospect and onboarding processes for clients across all risk levels, including PEPs.
- Provide AML-related support and advice to Front Office, Client Lifecycle Management, and other departments.
- Meet strict deadlines for compliance reviews aligned with regulatory and business needs.
- Collaborate with Front Office to balance regulatory compliance with business objectives.
- Assist the Swiss Head of Compliance Onboarding and Review with audit preparation and follow-up tasks.
Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of experience in due diligence and AML reviews within financial services.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Proven track record in private client due diligence and market coverage.
- Experience managing complex cases involving High Risk, PEP, and intricate structures.
- Deep knowledge of AML, CDB, FATCA, Tax, and CRS requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent academic/professional qualification.
- Ability to summarize complex issues, make sound decisions, and perform under pressure.
- Skill in writing detailed compliance assessments and risk documentation in English.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Legal residency in Switzerland.
- Willingness to work 100% onsite in Geneva with no remote work options.
