Senior Android Engineer (Pass)

Proton seeks a Senior Android Engineer to lead fullstack development of Proton Pass and SimpleLogin, ensuring end-to-end ownership and high-performance cross-platform solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain cross-platform Android apps using Kotlin and Rust.
• Manage the complete lifecycle of mobile projects, including prioritization and planning.
• Drive innovation by testing new tools and methods for mobile engineering.
• Enhance app speed, usability, and responsiveness through rigorous optimization.
• Apply advanced techniques in memory management, multithreading, and concurrency.
• Architect scalable solutions that account for caching, network limits, and server capacity.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or comparable professional experience.
• Demonstrated history of creating Android applications with Kotlin.
• Solid skills in using Jetpack Compose for UI development.
• Working knowledge of the Rust programming language.
• Deep understanding of mobile architecture, design patterns, and industry standards.
• Expertise in memory management strategies and best practices.
• Proven ability to handle multithreading and concurrency challenges.
