Senior Backend Developer

Tether seeks a Senior Backend Developer in Zürich, CH, for a full-time remote role. The position involves enhancing and maintaining backend services for the Tether platform, using NodeJS and databases like MySQL and MongoDB, with a focus on security and compliance.

This role is part of the team responsible for developing and maintaining backend components across multiple services within the Tether platform, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to design practical and clear system architectures based on requirements.
• Enhance existing core backend services built with NodeJS.
• Develop new solutions that communicate with core services via RPC calls.
• Create complex database queries to support compliance and financial reporting needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with JavaScript and NodeJS.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Proven experience in building and evolving a complex digital platform.
• Strong experience working with databases including MySQL and MongoDB.
• Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies.
• Solid understanding of security best practices in software development.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating blockchain technologies.
• Familiarity with high-availability system design.
• Background in Ruby on Rails development.
• Experience with message queues (e.g., Redis), caching systems, and job queues.
